Pc { Matrices and the Linear Complementarity
We introduce a new matrix class Pc, which consists of those matrices M for which the solution set of the corresponding linear complementarity problem is connected for every q 2 I R n. We consider Lemke's pivotal method from the perspective of piecewise linear homotopies and normal maps and show that Lemke's method processes all matrices in Pc \Q0. We further investigate the relationship of the ...
متن کاملP D - Matrices and Linear Complementarity Problems
Motivated by the definition of P†-matrix ([9]), another generalization of a P -matrix for square singular matrices called PD-matrix is proposed first. Then the uniqueness of solution of Linear Complementarity Problems for square singular matrices is proved using PD-matrices. Finally some results which are true for P -matrices are extended to PD-matrices.
متن کاملVerification of Solutions for Almost Linear Complementarity Problems
The paper establishes a computational enclosure of the solution of a nonlinear complementarity problem x ≥ 0, l(x) ≥ 0, x l(x) = 0, where l(x) = Mx+ Φ(x) is a so-called almost linear mapping with an H-matrix M with positive diagonal elements and an increasing diagonal mapping Φ. The procedure also delivers a simple proof for the uniqueness of the solution. Mathematics Subject Classification (20...
متن کاملLinear Complementarity and P-Matrices for Stochastic Games
We define the first nontrivial polynomially recognizable subclass of P-matrixGeneralized Linear Complementarity Problems (GLCPs) with a subexponential pivot rule. No such classes/rules were previously known. We show that a subclass of Shapley turn-based stochastic games, subsuming Condon’s simple stochastic games, is reducible to the new class of GLCPs. Based on this we suggest the new strongly...
متن کاملEnclosing Solutions of Linear Complementarity Problems for H-Matrices
The paper establishes a computational encIosure of the solution of the linear complementarity problem (q, M), where M is assumed to be an H-matrix with a positive main diagonal. A dass of problems with interval data, which can arise in approximating the solutions of free boundary problems, is also treated successfully.
